Description

D-Tyrosine is the D-type isomer of tyrosine. It is a white needle-like crystal, odorless and bitter in taste. Soluble in alkaline solutions and dilute acids, slightly soluble in water, insoluble in acetone, ethanol and ether.

D-Tyrosine negatively regulates melanin synthesis by inhibiting the activity of tyrosinase. D-Tyrosine inhibits the formation of biofilms and triggers their self-diffusion without suppressing the growth of bacteria.
